My 10 year old German Shepherd, a retired seeing eye dog, is scheduled for ACL surgery on Sept 17 at the Red Bank hospital. She also has auto immune disease (auto mediated poly arthritis). There are several alternative types of surgery and i don't know which is best. the hospital is top rate. the surgery is scheduled later because she was on prednisone and had to be weened off before surgery. any ideas on what is best surgery. I've researched on internet and still don't know. One type is $3800 and other is more expensive. This hospital was the only one able to diagnose both her immune disease and ACL after seeing several other vets so i trust them. please help. i love her and want the best for her.

I would really trust the board-certified ortho surgeon who is looking at your dog and the has the full case history to guide you on that. They tend to really know their stuff and have the experience to use the technique with the best possible outcome.
