So I have this 7 month old girl German shepherd and she has been anything but easy to take care of. She is very rough without realizing it, she is still not potty trained. We have tried crate with her and she has grown so comfortable with going in her crate and laying in it. Right from the start she has not done well with other dogs or people, other than the family. Today we took her to a dog park for the first time and she was so scared that she started becoming aggressive with the other dogs. People did not want her around them which is of course understandable. I want her to stop this behavior but I don't know what to do. I don't know if her rough behavior has anything to do with the fact that her father is a police dog. Any kind of advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You need to find a good trainer to help with this! Look for a balanced trainer, preferably with extensive GSD experience! Believe me, while hiring a trainer is not real expensive, it's not cheap either. But it's priceless in terms of how quickly your puppy will become manageable, and how much they can help you understand your puppy!

How long have you had your dog? Do you have a pedigree on her? The fact that the father is a Police dog really shouldn't be that much of a factor, unless he was bred to a weaker nerved female. I'm a little concerned about your dog's breeding and genetics which is why I am asking. Breeders say lots of things to sell puppies. Do you know for a fact that the sire was actually a working Police K-9 and what was he trained in?
