Hi! I rescued Rex in March. He is 2.5 years old and completely house broken and trained. Even walks without the leash. My guess is he was trained to be a service and/or K9 dog. I also have no idea why anyone would give up this dog.
The thing is, it’s like he doesn’t know how to use his back legs. He will not run and I have issues getting him in to my Equinox and my bed that is only 2 feet off the ground. We go for 2 hour long walks a day without any problems. Any insight would be great because I’m worried about him!

Has he been to the vet for an evaluation? A 2.5 yr old dog should be much MUCH more active than that!

I agree that he should see a vet, but I TAUGHT Shadow that she couldn't jump. People ask if her hips are shot all the time because I lift her into the truck. She could jump, but I taught her not to.
