Hi All,

We have a 15 week old puppy that were having an issue with

Normally he's good as gold and when our friends 5yr old lab comes over he showers her with kisses and is really good,

The problem we are having is that as soon as he is out on the park with her he is biting and clamping on to her neck, this is pulling her fur and has also cut her twice now, she is a ball obsessed dog that doesn't want to play and is only interested in the ball,

So far we have tried just pulling him away, putting him back on his lead when he has done wrong, treating him and praising him for when he is playing nice but he is still playing too rough with her,

Does anyone have any advice for this situation? Don't want to make his trips to the park un-enjoyable for him..

Thanks

Sam

They need to be kept separated at the park. The puppy is just getting too excited and over stimulated.Just play ball with him by himself for now.You can help him learn more self control when he matures a little more.
If the lab or another dog gets ticked off from the biting your puppy could be seriously injured.

Try leaving the ball at home and see what happens. Let them run and play and enjoy the park, the trails, the squirrels and the new scents. See how that works out for you.

Thanks for your replies, we took him out last night on his own and he was good as gold, I think he may be too young to have the right self control,
I think one of the ideas is to try and get him interested in something like a ball/rope that we can play with him while the lab plays with the tennis ball, also taking him out for a walk before he we meet up with our friend and her lab so that we can get some of the energy out...

All thoughts and ideas are welcome :)
