My 12 year old has started losing control of bladder and will pee on herself when I am not home. I don't leave her over 7 hours. She is taking Dermaxx 37mg. She has been on it for about a year. Could this be a side effect? I have noticed her back legs are bothering her a bit more now. Before I go to Vet I wanted to get advice. Thanks

I have never heard of Deramaxx causing urinary incontinance.

A trip to the vet is a good idea. She may have a UTI, or maybe a hormone imbalance that can be treated. I would catch a urine sample and bring it with you. Bloodwork is a good idea as well, to check her kidneys. Which Deramaxx may affect.(can't remember if it cheated through the liver or the kidneys, been out of primary practice for a while).

This could be a UTI . Our Charlie will pee when she is asleep. She is on a medication to help her stay continent.

You could collect the urine sample by sucking it up with a syringe off a clean floor.

(or a turkey baster)
