Mei's Training

Gonna start a thread to put videos of Mei and her training. Here's some training tonight we did.

Last one there, I tried getting her to do push-ups but didn't work out that time lol

This was a week ago. This is some "off-leash" heel training we do...I'd say safe to say every day. I keep the leash on her, but she just drags it for just in case. Since then, I have taken her on a shorter, maybe 5 minute, one with no leash and she does great!

Just the other day, I walked her to the nearest park, maybe 3 minute walk, to play some fetch. There's a good size hill there and once we got there, we crested the top of the hill and BOOM, like 10 meters in front of us is a guy walking two boxers. I stopped and had Mei quickly sit while we watched this guy lose all control of his boxers lunging towards us and what not. As the guy is pretty much being pulled to the ground, I start walking away past them with Mei following suit, but she did still look very curious and wanting to play with the other dogs. Her recall is so good, even with distractions like that. I felt bad for the guy because his dogs go frustrated, they even got in a little fight with each other as we were walking by. All this happened with no leash on Mei as well. At 7 months, I couldn't be any more proud of her! Yesterday at the group obedience class she was being a pill at first though! She thinks its play time! I think I may start her service training sooner than later.

First time out in four weeks! I'm so happy with her. Not a single hiccup/set back in her training while we kept her home in heat! Gave her a good wash yesterday to clean out heat smell.

Patiently sitting, focused on another dog at petsmart.

Full of confidence, she climbed this small ladder and sat.

A good sit/stay while I walk away to look at things on a shelf.

Whenever I called her to me, she was so excited she did it! Like the little kid, "daddy, I did it!" excitement when I had her come.

Great to be back to training!

Worked on place today in class. First time trying on the black stool and got it first time! So then I tried the smaller red stool. She struggled with balance at first but eventually got it!

I wish I got a picture or video from yesterday's training. After the class we stayed and let her and another sable gsd play. The trainer stayed after too and got out his bite sleeve and Mei loved it! I've been training her bite with this really thick rope tug toy we have called the Mammoth. She's got a really strong bite and loves tug. She's able to hold on and I'm able to lift her off ground and swing around and she doesn't let go it's pretty strong bite.

I'll tell you what though I think I got more of a workout than she did. Tug with the bite sleeve is exhausting! She was awesome for her first time. It was funny when I let the sleeve go then she tries her victory whipping it around thing but it's too big and kept hitting the ground. She's great at letting go when I say "drop" too.

I ended up getting one off Amazon today. She's gonna be excited!
