Tug / Bitework

Doing some bite work with my 1.5 year old pup. Hes finally started getting into tugging but he's only using his front incisors, he has a short muzzle so he has a strong bite. Any recommendations from you pro trainers on how to get him to use his back teeth?

I'm not a pro trainer...but to get my boy to grab with his back teeth, I would tug with him and as soon as he adjusted his bite to the rear teeth, I let go and praised him...he would run around with the toy and I would call him back and the game would start over. Does he ever adjust his bite? What are you using as a tug? If the tug toy is too big or tough, he may not transition to a full mouth grip.
