Managing Play Sessions Between Dogs

My Shepherd foster is very easily aroused when playing with other dogs, and I have found that calling her back from the play just to let her calm down, and then sending her back is the best way to prevent her from getting out of hand. She's getting a lot better, but she still has a way to go.

Does anyone do this with their dogs? I think it's a good way to practice the recall under distractions too.

Yep, and I also interrupt play for a couple of quick obedience commands - sits and downs and "watch". I think it's a great idea.
