Too Overprotective

Has anyone ever had an overly protective gsd? Mine is super protective in the house and outside in the backyard. If he is outside of our home or backyard he is fine and will lick and be very affectionate to people and dogs. I need him to not be so protective because it's to the point where he goes crazy any time he sees anyone go by or even little rabbits or squirrels who are by the house he goes crazy. He has had obedience and private in home lessons before. If anyone has any training advice I'd appreciate it! Oh and one more thing once someone is in the house or backyard he is ok. It's only if they are passing by that he goes nuts.

the best advice I can give you is be out there with him when he starts going nuts, put a leash on him and redirect.

Thanks that's what I was thinking as well. I've been doing it in the house but I will have to start not letting him out unless hes on a leash with me so I can stay on top of it.
