What are your goals for socializing?

Do you want a social butterfly that plays with other people and dogs or a dog and people neutral GSD who is relaxed and tolerate but not particularly interested in those outside of his pack?

I know genetics is going to play a role in that but it does impact the things you do with the dog as a puppy.

A puppy class and basic obedience classes can go a long way for training and socializing.

When Shadow was a puppy my kids were in elementary school and she went with me to pick them up every day.
She got lot's of little kid lovin' and grew up to be wonderful around kids.
Maybe you too can go to a school when it lets out in the afternoon.

I'm no expert, but here's my 2 cents. If I read correctly, this dog is about 8 weeks now? I'm guessing that your CS has food items in it, and having a dog inside would maybe raise some heath code issues, but really IDK, more just wondering. Anyhow, the school thing is a good idea since this is a small pup.

Perhaps you could edit your profile to include the country you live in. Most people will assume you're in the US unless you say you're not, so that will prevent you from always having to explain that you live in another country where resources may be different, and their might also be cultural differences about pets.
