Any good training videos?

Do you all have any recommendation for a good raining video/dvd? I've read both skete books and I want something to watch besides the skete video. I get my first ever GSD here in about 3-4 weeks so I'm just trying to learn as much as I can before then.

The Michael Ellis videos are great, you can view clips on Leerburgs site:

Here's a website that has good clicker training videos, if you are into that.
Positive, Fun and Motivational Dog Training

We watched the Cesar Milan videos too, but there are better ones out there. Depends on how you want to train your dog. There were a few things worth learning in the Milan videos, but he doesn't really do any training.

The Control Unleashed video is very cool, but probably more appropriate for when your puppy gets a bit older.

IMO the Monks are a bit outdated. There is much better info out there these days, especially for puppy training!

Check out Dog Star Daily for a free Puppy Training Guide and lots of free training vids: Dog Star Daily

Also these Youtube channels have a lot of great training vids:

YouTube - yolle555's Channel

YouTube - kikopup's Channel

YouTube - hunkymonkeykaine's Channel (featuring a GSD even)

The puppy featured in this video is just 4 months old - a great example of what is possible with motivational training methods

Hi,
My dog is over a year old and he is absolutely CRAZY. I've tried to train him myself, but he's just too hyper and it hasn't worked. Know of any good training classes or videos that you have had success with? I don't want to have to pay an arm and a leg, either.

Start researching "Nothing In Life Is Free" while you save up money for a real obedience class.
