Indoor fun on a hot South Ga. day

It is near 100 degrees here every day lately and Lizzie gets so bored and anxious to get outside, walk, and play frizbee. We walk 3 to 4 miles every morning early but during the day...NO WAY. Add to the heat the gnats in your mouth and nose and it is MISERABLE.

So....I started an indoor obstacle course and training. We go "OVER" the dining room chair, "Under" a casual table I sit in the middle of the room, stop at every door, sit, go around the coffee table twice, and so forth. After about ten minutes she is worn out and so are we....tired and happy. We drop treats on the floor to practice "leave it" and hide treats where she has to heel and sit.

Just like a kid on a rainy day, she is bored with being inside. So our "training course" is our furniture and we have a blast.

How about a kiddie pool? Last summer Mia loved hers (we are hot too, but dry, not humid). An outing to Petsmart might be fun too...a few laps around the store with a stop to check out birds and fish is fun for us too!

Yep, we have the pool too. We eat lots of oysters here and we keep the shells and throw them in the kiddy pool. For some reason she loves to dive down and get them and carry them around. We get our exercise throwing them back in...but with the bugs and the humidity it is too hot to even step outside after about 9 a.m. and before 8 p.m. I really hate living here. Will be moving to the north Ga. mountains next year and can't wait.

It's miserable here too! My poor little guy almost doesn't want to go out mid-day. He has a kiddy pool too and he uses the treadmill, walks and runs happen early and late.
