what words do you use?...

When i have Josie in a sit in front of me and i say "finish" She goes around me to come to my left side. Now i want her to come to my side without going around me does that make sense?. I almost have to guide her with my finger to show her what i want her to do.

I can't say "heel" because that is when i start moving my left foot. At least that's what i've been taught in training.

I've used the word " come close" if she's sitting alittle too far from my left side.

What other words you think i could use for her to come to my left after sitting in front of me?.

For a finish right I use the word heel.

For a finish left (working on it ) I'm using "by me", left over from training my English Setter 16 years ago. In obedience class they use "swing" as in swing around.

I use the word Heel meaning to get into heel position.

Heel is a position so that is the word I use. If you want her to learn a command to move with you I would pick a different word.

Exactly - if you're stationary she should be sitting at your side, if you're moving she should be walking at your side, but it's all "heel" because she's in the heel position. Practice calling her to heel position with a treat lure, continuing the motion until she's in a sit, then mark and deliver the treat.

If Halo is in a front position she knows that if I call her to heel and I remain standing she's to sit next to me, if I start walking as soon as she's at my side, she is to walk with me.

When I want my dogs to come into the heel position on my left I use "heel." When I want them to go around my right and finish in the heel position (on my left) I use "around"
