Good game?

I've been thinking about working J's recall and release command at the same time by:
Have two or three of us sitting a few feet apart with a highly prized toy or treat(s) each, and taking turns calling, and RIGHT before or as the other person calls, the one who has him at the time will give the release command such as "Go".
Will this confuse the pup in any way.. Or is it a good way to teach two commands at once? Stay and down will of course follow ASAP, it saved my last pup's life once as she chased down a rabbit she nearly followed it into a busy road, I was 9 and shouted the stay command and she stopped a second before a truck roared past.
