tug of war

okay we have a 2.5 year old aussie and a 12 week old puppy...they love to play tug of war with a kong toy......sometimes they get a little aggressive....should we encourage this type of play ...

Re: tug of war

What do you mean by getting aggressive? Do they just make a lot of noise or do they actually get on each other?

Re: tug of war

is there some tail wagging going on while this is taking place?

I know Cooper and Ava play tug but the ears are always back and the tails are ALWAYS wagging.

Re: tug of war

Once in awhile they get a little serious about their play...the puppy does not back down and I can tell he is becoming more strong and confident in his play....but... was wondering if our puppy is learning to be aggressive or if this is just the right of passage from puppyhood to big doghood...

Re: tug of war

Is the puppy a German Shepherd, and is the dog a companion pet or a pet that you might want to eventually enroll in SCH training.

It does make a difference.
