problem walking on leash

Greta is 11 weeks old today. When I walk her on leash, she walks all around me. She goes from side to side, behind me, etc. I am always having to spin around and change hands with the leash. She doesn't pull much, so that's good. But sometimes it is quite annoying. Anyone have any ideas what I can do to help her learn to loose leash walk properly? Thanks.

If she isn't pulling that means she isn't resisting, you're giving her too much slack which allows her to do this.

Here's what we've started with Porter for leash manners - put the loop on your right wrist, put your left hand about 18-24" down from that so that your left hand is by your side (the leash will be crossing in front of your hips/pelvis). This keeps him on my left side with not a lot of slack. Of course, we stop often and give him the length of the leash so he can explore, but then say "Okay, let's go" and resume the previous position. I keep praising him as he walks like this and make sure he gets plenty "exploration" breaks. Also, if he starts pulling, I gently pull him back saying "Easy", then let the leash go slack - after two or three times in a row, he seems to get it and we keep some slack. He's only 3 1/2 m/o, so we have to do that fairly frequently - especially after an exploration break, but he's doing better and better the more we practice.
