That was a good read! I can see to go off more of the pup's personality. Ours is almost 15 weeks and he is a straight up social butterfly. I can totally see the importance of instilling the focus on me skill set. He listens, to a point, but at the same time, lots of distractions. To be honest, I am letting him be a puppy for now with training sprinkled in with play. Thanks for sharing that!

yes it is a good article , pretty much on board with the ideas which inspired https://www.germanshepherds.com/forum...alization.html

there is no greater nonsense then the list of must do's in raising a pup -- especially that list of 100 people that they must meet before a certain time -

," I simply let him grow up. I just let him be a dog."

the role of the human in the partnership is to guide the dog INTO MATURITY , as a well adjusted , confident adult dog.

" I don’t socialize my dogs. At least not in the traditional sense"

I understand this perfectly. What has been outlined in this article is pretty much what I do with and for my dogs - including those that I keep to run on for professional service , including LE.

too many pups are overwrought with stimulation and wild over extended physical blow-out play session in the idea that a tired pup is a good pup -

I agree with the article as well. Genetics can be weird, my girls are litter mates yet they are different in many ways. The article brings up female x female aggression, with mine one is one is not.
