Loose leash.

Hey, I was just after some further advice from some of you well experienced gsd owners 😊

My boy is now 12 months old and well into his teenage independence stage. He is still intact (we're planning on getting him castrated in the future).

I've been practising loose leash with him from about 4 months old and he was doing really well. Now we're at the teenage stay he has decided he no longer wants to loose leash whether I have food or not.

Any tips or advice for tackling loose leash training through this difficult stage or do I just have to keep trying and hope he'll snap out of it soon? Any links to useful YouTube videos etc would be really appreciated!

Thanks!

I just correct them. At this point he knows the position and I think what you're seeing is the limit of what rewarding him is going to be with him. Over there means more then the treat over here.

I think 12 months is grounds for a prong collar. My pup is 6 months old, and she has good days and bad days. If She was 12 months old, I would not risk tearing out my shoulder because she wants to go sniff a rock or chase a bird.
