Puppy biting.

Diana turns 4months tomorrow.

She is mellow for most of the time but at times she gets bitey and bites uncontrollably. Also while playing chase, she seems to be more interested in biting my legs than her toys.

How do I correct this.?

Diana is adorable. I think she gets bitey and won't stop because she is overtired. When that happens, put her in her crate for a nap. For when you are walking and she bites your legs, what I did was to wear boots and I also carried a ball. It was no fun for the pup to bite my legs but was fun for him to chase after the ball.

She is play biting for fun. You have to teach her that her bites cause you pain and her mouth doesn't belong to your skin. To do that whenever she bites you during play, you yelp and limp your hand in such a way as if you are hurt by his bite. She will immediately get back, same action a few times will stop her biting you.

Hope it helps and resolve your issue. Further you can check this article on How to Stop a Dog from Biting in 5 Steps

she looks a bit like my gal did at that age. make sure when you bring out the tug that you keep it lively. Maybe a rag will work better. A tug can feel clunky in the mouth when they are still little. My gal likes to grab the "legs" on the Woobah and the string on a Ball and sting. Now that she is a almost 9 months old she is getting more interested in small tugs.

Went through this many times. When she bites during play give a loud NO, get up and leave the room. It's hard but you must do this every single time. They will almost certainly still mouth you but you have to train them to not bite down hard on human skin.
