I looked up the rules on them is a TDU a little more challenging than a TD?

I think it might mostly depend on where you have to train. For me, hayfields are way easier to get to than a park or college campus to train for TDU. I think the TDU was intended to be an easier place to start than VST for people who lived in more urban environments.

I think for my dog it would be harder, i've done no hard surface tracking with him yet. I have tracked him in some town parks but not to the level to pass a TDU. And there are three articles in TDU, 2 in TD

That was my thought it helps to get ready for the urban tracking titles. I was confused on why it is equal to a TD. It should be a separate title, a stepping stone to the urban tracking.

TDU is urban tracking. I've done a bit of it and believe it's harder as there's no disturbed/crushed vegetation. If you're ever interested in a VST you'll have to do urban tracking. I was hoping to do a VST this Winter but can't work my dog until next Spring.

No I understand that but only 30% can be urban terran in a TDU. I am saying it should be a title right after TD, then go to VST after TDU. I am hoping to get a TDU or TD on my girl this upcoming year.

I am not 100% sure what you mean. It is a separate title, and where it is offered people do use it as a stepping stone to get ready for VST.

According to the regs a TD or TDU gets you in to a VST.

I watched two VST's last March. They're hard! They start out on vegetated surface and first turn is on vegetation then hard surface. The track layer walked through a cross walk and made a 90d turn half way through and walked down the middle of the road on the painted broken line for one leg of the track.

VST Super hard... I think the pass rate is 12%?

So OP are you saying you think TDU should be required between TD and VST? As opposed to optional which is what it is
