5 Month old puppy Hips

Good Morning everyone.

I have been doing a lot of research regarding HD, and decided i would finally post to see if i can get some opinions.

We have a 5 month old puppy, which we love dearly. She walks kind of "gangly" and loose, and the more research I do, along with watching videos seems to be normal, and hopefully she will grow into her legs. She does not show any signs of pain, doesn't have any issues getting up and runs around like a puppy should.

A month ago, we questioned our vet about it, and he said the same thing that she will grow into her legs. We went for a routine visit last week, and we asked about supplements to help build muscle. He did a hip test, and didn't notice anything out of line. He then said he could do X-rays to make sure nothing was wrong. He quickly did the X-rays (without sedation), and came back and said the "hips don't look good", and recommended us to an orthopedic specialist.

With that being said, we are totally distraught. I spoke to the breeder, and she disagrees with his evaluation. She also said the positioning is not the best. I also had another Vet friend take a look at the X-rays, and they said the same thing. I have looked at almost every post in this forum, and can definitely notice when hips are bad, but i'm not sure about ours.

Should we be worried about this, or not since she is still so young?

Any opinions would be appreciated, and thank you in advance!

the other vet said the same thing as what ?

the same thing as Vet #1 or the same thing as the breeder.

send the plates to OFA for a prelim evaluation -- they will be the final arbiter .
