SAR Article

I was wondering if there is a good introductory article on SAR that the author(s) would allow me to publish in my dog club's newsletter.

I'm editor this year and I'm always trying to educate members about activities they can do with their dogs.

It's an AKC club and private newsletter. The author will be given credit. I guess they call it a "by line".

Thanks. I don't need much, maybe a full page? (or less) I see there's a very long article on Wikipedia. I could try to compress some of that information if nothing else comes up.

I can't find the article I was looking for but the one in the Wiki on Search and Rescue Dog looks pretty decent.

One thing not elaborated on and I don't feel like going in and editing the wiki is the AKC CAR (companion animal recovery program) donates large sums of money to many SAR teams. It would be wrong NOT to mention, particularly since you are an AKC club.

Also there are newer works on lost person behavior by Koester that has pretty much replaced the Syrotouk work on lost person behavior..

Thanks for checking over the Wiki article for me. I'll read over all the information and see what I can come up with.
