Scorebook for mixed breed question

So i wanted to do a BH and AD with my Dalmatian, just for fun as obviously AKC/UKC is my main venue for competitions. So I just want to get a scorebook and register him as a mixed breed with Schutzhund USA, rather than going through all the paperwork just for the sake of saying he's a purebred pedigreed Dalmatian. My question is about tattoos/microchips. He is neither tattoed or microchipped, and I have heard that at club level, since he is not a GSD, it is not required. So is this true? If I get his scorebook as a mix breed and stay at club level, can I avoid having to get him chipped and providing a scanner? Thanks.

No. The new FCI rules require ALL dogs at ALL levels to be identified with either tattoo or microchip.

Although it is the handler's responsibility to provide the scanner, most clubs have access to one. Just ask before you enter their trial if they have a scanner.

Before I had Aiden's papers, he had to be registered as a mixed breed. Like Frank said, he still needed to be identified. I had him microchipped a few weeks before the trial. My club provided the scanner.

ok thank you. I kept hearing conflicting things. Looks like I'll have to get him microchipped
