missing training for 2 weeks ;( suggestions?

This may sound stupid, but since we started Schutzhund many months ago, we have only missed ONE weekend of training, but due to the death of my grandfather, and my wedding anniversary NEXT weekend... we will miss two weekends. I know we can't do bitework, but do you think that will be affected at all? I know we can track whenever possible, and that helps... and OB is going to hopefully be a lot better if I work on it.. but anything Particular I should make sure I do?

Breaks are good. I bet he won't miss a beat when you get back into it. I wouldn't worry about it at all~ especially at his age.
Thoughts are with you and your family in the loss of your Grandfather.

Thanks Jane...

I was curious though.. I remember when I took Piano lessons... lol.. if I was sick and missed a few lessons I went blank.. haha last thing I need is to be sending him on a bite and he stops like " wtf... what am I supposed to do?"

Breaks are fine, especially at this age. I was just on vacation for two weeks and missed three training days. I did not do any Schutzhund training on vacation either (did other activities with the dogs, no real obedience training).

Don't worry about it. Just do some tracking and work on OB if you can. Bitework for pup is really not that important in the grand scheme of things. As my TD likes to say: "I just let the puppies bite from time to time so you people would shut up about it"

Haha.. Jason sounds like the guys at our club.. lol.

I missed 3 weeks in a row due to vacation and family stuff and work... eek! I did some tracks at home with a friend from the club and tried to work on OB with Stark but gave up the formal stuff until I had some help/direction from members/trainer.

He's back at it and never missed a beat. I on the other hand.....
