Question about puppy classes with 9wk old

I am going to sign my pup for schutzhund I found a nice club and am really excited I talked to the trainer today and they said to come 1 week after his second shots..Hes 9 weeks this friday so next friday he will be 10wks .. puppy classes are on Saturdays.. My question is with parvo running rampant lately is this safe? I know all dogs have to have vaccination records at the club he asked me to bring mine and all are kept updated but I still am worried..I dont want to lose any time with socialization or training but dont want to risk losing him either...He said he does the same with all his pups too and never had a problem...Just would like to hear from experienced people this is my first time with a schutzhund club I have only done personal protection training..Thanks !

Parvo is alway running rampant, that's nothing new. So long as your pup is current on his shots, he should be fine.

I would take him to your puppy class, but stay away from the dog park or the pet store for now.

People in classes are generally a little more dog-savy. It is no guarantee, but I almost always take mine to classes by 9-10 weeks.

I would think a SchH club would be a bit safer than a regular obedience type club. The dogs are usually out one at a time and owners are more dog savvy(I just read selzers post~same words jinx!).
I took Karlo to his first club visit at 10 weeks, he wasn't out very long.

I agree. Being in a group of dog people that know their stuff will be as safe as you can be, while still being able to train/exercise and socialize your puppy.

Go and have fun!
