Re: What do they all do at an eval?
Wow, half Czech lines and half High-Lines!!! What an intersting pairing - What was your breeder trying to achieve with this breeding? Not criticizing, just feel that this is new uncharted territory and curious about the rational.
But to answer you questions - they won't do anything scary! When evaluation a puppy for Schutzhund potential, the evaluator will be looking at overhall temperament and drive. They will see how your pup reacts when in a new situation, around new people. Does he show curiosity and interest in his environment, or does he hang back and stays close to mommy/daddy for security?
They will play a bit with him, tease him with a rag or a tug, see if he wants to play, chase, bite, tug. If evaluating an older dog, they might put just a tad of pressure on him (act a bit threatening) to see how the dog reacts. But they won't on a young puppy, they'll be mostly looking for his drive levels and confidence level.
An experienced trainer can tell a lot about your pup just by watching him walk onto the field.
So just relax and have fun, and your pup will have fun too! Good luck!
