GSD, Tripod, found in Ohio and sent to Angel Ridge Rescue (PA) in 2008

I live in Western PA and in the fall of 2008 we rescued a German Shepherd named Tripod from Angel Ridge Animal Rescue. He is missing one of his back legs and was living on the property of one of the caretakers at Angel Ridge. They told us he was found in Ohio.

Just the other day I stumbled upon this forum and saw that a stray/injured GSD was rescued back in 2008 in Ohio and transported to Angel Ridge. Name...Tripod.

I wanted to re-post on here to see if anyone had any additional information, to see if this was indeed the same dog, and to say THANK YOU to those that worked tirelessly to find a shelter, foster, transporter, etc. for this pup, now named Rooney. I got chills reading the posts under the thread for what I believe is Rooney's "story".

My wife and I re-named him Rooney after the owners of the Steelers and he is a most beloved member of our family. We could not have found a sweeter dog. He loves to go to the park to run and swim. He loves car rides. He loves his Grandparents. He loves to cuddle with us and he loves to be spoiled! Rooney is absolutely the best and nothing holds him back. Also, my wife recently gave birth to our first child and Rooney just adores her.

Please feel free to reach out if you would like to tie up any loose ends to this wonderful story. I would love to hear from you. And I hope that this touches at least one person. Thanks again everyone!

What a great story. Sorry I don't have any information for you. I appreciate you sharing this. Hopefully, it will encourage others to not judge a dog because it only has three legs, or some other "difference". Imagine what you would have missed, had you not adopted Rooney.

Thank you for giving him such an awesome home. I love happy endings.
