Princeton, WV - Max - adult male black and tan

It has been three and one-half months since I pulled Max from the Mercer County shelter in Princeton, WV. He had been seized from his second owner due to neglect/abandonment and was just a little over 70 pounds when seized by animal control in early December. I pulled him on December 22, 2010 for Virginia German Shepherd Rescue and then, shortly thereafter, declared myself a foster failure. Max was home to stay. Here are some photos of Max to show his progress over the past three months.

Max is now in his third basic obedience class with me as these provide good opportunities for socialization and new experiences for him. He continues to do well with my pack of seven other dogs and has adjusted beautifully to being an indoor house dog. He has gained nearly 20 pounds and his coat and skin are much improved as well. I feel so lucky to have found this great dog.
