I recieved an email from Pam asking for help for this boy. The shelter is overfull, with two to three dogs to a kennel, this boy is urgent and needs help immediately. He is a beautiful guy!! Per Pams eval:
I just don't know what to say about Bobby. He was fine with me and Evan and Jeff, but he needs a careful foster and adoptive home. You must be slow and deliberate and let him see you first. He is friendly, but distant. He didn't care to eat the treats or play with the ball. He walks nice on a leash. He has cataracts, his is in-tact, he is 8 years old, he has had a lonely life in a crate on the porch all day.
His shelter paperwork looks bad. Most kennel staff is bad with him. They move too quickly. The one guy approached him from the rear and went to pick him up by his hind quarters and the dog startled and snapped (duh). Well, now his paperwork says unpredictable and under-socialized. He let me touch him all over and up and down his legs. I was slow and deliberate. My 12 yr old son was petting him and could walk him around the shelter yard just fine.
