doggy cupcakes---a big hit!

I made doggy cupcakes for Sasha for her 2nd birthday back in October. I used this recipe, but modified it slightly:

1 cup white or whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup shredded carrots
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup honey
1 egg
Preheat oven to 350F (180C)
Mix together flour and baking soda. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into a ring mold sprayed with a nonstick spray for 40 minutes.

I used unsweetened applesauce instead of vegetable oil, and half a mashed banana instead of carrots. I made cupcakes instead of a full cake. I gave her one on her birthday, and she LOVED it. I froze the rest of them and every once in a while I thaw one and give it to her as a special treat. They freeze well, and she likes them just as much as the first time!

What a great idea. I make the home made beef crunchies and chicken jerky but I'm going to add this as well. Thanks for sharing!

I make the beef and chicken treats too but I'm going to try the muffins--like the beef crunchies, my husband will probably think they're for him!
