Reactive 8 months

Hello,
I’ll keep it short. Miki barks and lunges at people and dogs (sometimes). She’s strong enough to pull me towards where she wants to go. Today I had to swing her away from another dog and felt terrible afterwards. It usually happens on the way to the dog field (so before she’s had a run - when she’s bursting with energy). I’ve started trying to exhaust her before a walk by playing fetch for a bit in the garden.
I’m pretty sure it’s out of excitement. Group obedience training starts in January. Is there anything we can do in the meantime to make our walks more pleasant? Cheers x

Lots of terrific resources on this site, even if you don't participate in IPO. Check out the puppy socialization and engagement advice and follow it. Socializing the Schutzhund Puppy | SCHUTZHUND LIFE
