Just Venting :(

It can feel good to vent, so her I am. I'm sure I could have prevented these situations. Guess I need to take a "do better" pill and get better at anticipating some puppy antics.

Last night, I was settling in for bedtime. Cassie sleeps on my bed at night. She was out of my sight for a couple of minutes. Then, she comes running into the bedroom and jumps on the bed with a tidy bowl brush in her mouth. That was an unpleasant surprise. The last thing you want in you bed is a tidy bowl brush.

Unfortunately, I have a pedestal sink in the bathroom, so no cabinet. I'd gotten away with hiding it behind the toilet. Guess that genie is out of the bottle. Once Cassie gets fascinated with something, she will go after it again. I ended up putting her in her crate and she spent part of the evening sleeping there. The tidy bowl brush is now out of sight.

I'm still searching for the missing key set. I searched the couch cushions today, and moved some thing around. I had a little back support cushion that I moved temporarily. For some reason it appealed to Cassie today. She grabbed it and headed outside with it and the chase was on. We had played a little chase with her toys earlier today. It's fun to play chase with a toy, but not so much when it's with something she shouldn't have. Eventually, I got it away from her (a little worse for wear)

It's been a rainy day and she got soaking wet. It was a tough job to dry her off, while she was in nibble mode.

Tomorrow is a new day. It's supposed to rain again. Hopefully I can find a lull in the storm to get in a walk.

Oh no! Someday you will look back at these puppy antics and laugh! When Cassie stole your cushion, did you try turning and running away from her? If I ever have a pup who won't come to me, I often make a happy sound, turn, and run away, and most of the time they'll run right to you.

Anyway, I was thumbing through some old photo albums tonight and saw some puppy pictures of Asher and Levi... they grow up so fast! Someday you will look back fondly on this puppy naughtiness. Hang in there!

I didn't feel like laughing, I really tried hard not to... but this cracked me up!

If you need equipment to maintain control of your dog, understand you’re hanging on to your dog’s body because you’ve lost his mind!

Perhaps:
1. Doggo should EARN the privilege of sleeping on the bed with the human. Doesn't sound like she's exactly "earned" this. Kick doggies butt to the floor. (yes, I'm serious about this. no bed privileges when pup is being a puppy.)
2. Close the bathroom door.

3. for drying doggo - I just figure the towel is a toy and the drying is a game. I have lots of old towels. Some of them have been customized in the dog drying process.

I look forward to hearing about tomorrows antics.

Your puppy is a hoot! Though I’m sure you find her trying at times. Hang in there, she’s going to be a fantastic dog.

Vent those stories all you want! We laugh because we have been there. As much as possible don't chase your pup, have the pup chase you. My dogs now stand in the middle of the yard with a toy and give me that "you want it, come get it" look and I never ever take them up on it. They must think I am just too stupid to figure it out and eventually take pity on me. You can teach that scamp to find things for you and who knows, you might find those keys someday.

This will be one of your stories that go down in history that you will share and share again! It’s good to write them down!

I gave Boon this "toy" when he was a puppy because it had dual-action ends for puppy amusement.
Yes it was a clean, new one. Husband bought three to use as juggling pins.

PS: "The tidy bowl brush is now out of sight."
But not out of scent! You better keep that door closed.

Heh, you think that's gross??

My 4 year old puppy found a treasure in the yard yesterday, and absolutely INSISTED on bringing it inside, totally ignoring my commands to "DROP IT!"

The treasure?

A frozen dog turd.
