piddles in house

Helmut is 9 mo. old and a great dog, gets along with dogs, loves people.
The only problem is he will for no apparent reason piddle around us. He lowers his head and ears, circles around us and piddles. He is not submissive in other situations, sometimes greeting people but that is more excitement.

We have tried ignoring him, distracting him works sometimes, we never scold him, we try not to show our frustration.

We have been told this should resolve on its own but there is no guarantee.

Has anybody here had experience with this

Is this a new behavior, or has he always done it? If it's new, have you had your vet check him out, made sure it's not a UTI or some other physical ailment? Is he neutered or intact?

Maybe he has a UTI and feels he is doing something wrong by the description of his body posture. Vet check comes before tackling behavior in this case.
