Vet did ultrasound and x ray and other things on her and she seems to be doing good; no retained puppies or placentas were seen. Perhaps she just ate all 9 placentas and it was keeping her full for a few days? She loves the milk I give her. She seems to be getting some appetite back. She'll eat pork chops and burgers, and SOME kibble and canned food. Energy seems to be coming back well now, too.

I give yogurt or cheese, cottage cheese or American or Provolone, but not milk. MIlk can give a dog diarrhea and that can be hard on the puppies. I give some evaporated milk during whelping to try to give her a burst of energy and get things moving, but afterwards no milk.

Others might do things differently.

Meat is great, anything that gets her appetite going. You do want for her to have a balanced diet. I use a good adult kibble that I am going to wean the puppies on, and then I give canned food of excellent quality, with yogurt or eggs or cheese. Animal products.

She gets puppy milk, goat's milk, or something similar to the leerburg puppy milk recipe, but not cow's milk.
