With singletons, it frequently happens that the pup doesn't send out enough of the signals (hormones?) needed to start labour. If the owner doesn't get the vet to intervene, you can lose both mom and pup!

Glad you are going to the vet! I have heard of this happening too many times!

Bad news is she didn't have any pups.

Good news is her uterus is healthy and no signs of any problems.

I am so disappointed. I tried to do everything perfectly with progesterone timing and reproductive vet, but I think I will try one more time and just go natural, as I did with her first litter.

Can't you leave her with the male next time throughout her heat?

At least she is healthy. You have another shot at it.

I think we'll go visit the male for a few days.

What a ride this was- next time I am certainly going to ultrasound to save myself the guesswork, my vet is awesome, the scan and visit was just $50, which is quite affordable!

The best news is that my girl is happy, healthy, and eager to work. Now for the snow to melt so we can get out and train. For now, we are enjoying skiing and snowshoeing.
