Does age determine size of litter?

We have a 3 year old female who was mated with our 12 year old male. This is our females 2nd litter first to a different male. Our female didn't get a big belly with either pregnancy she is naturally a slim dame. She had 7 pups the first time. We Are wondering about the males age having a factor in littler size. Last time we could palpate the pups and we can't so well this time. She is due in 5 days. Any thoughts?

Not really, no. An older male may have a lower sperm count and lower number of viable sperm, but if the male is still producing generally there is still more than enough to fertilize any eggs released by the dam. Biggest factors affecting litter size are how many eggs the female releases at ovulation and then how many of those successfully implant and grow.
