Question Tips for potty training an 8 week old GSD in Winter?

I will be picking up my new puppy this weekend! If I can, I would love to begin potty training on day one. However, the breeder has never taken her outside, let alone started potty training. And we live in Ohio and this winter has been wet and cold.

So I am worried that if I push it, she will be averse to the idea of potty training altogether.

Also, I am wondering if I should invest in a paw wax, boots or a coat for her prematurely? Any tips?

PS I plan on having an area cleared of snow with hay down as well. I just want to be prepared!
