5 barks and done?

Situation...loaned e-collar to neighbors .......their desire is to allow the dog 4-5 alert barks and then cease.....no verbal command required. Thoughts appreciated.

Maybey lack of experience is gonna come through on this post. But wouldn't some kind of command or action be required. Otherwise wouldn't the dogs just associate the stim with something totally random. Or with alerting and stop barking entirely.

I'm in the same camp.......granted it's limited to my preference and experience...but when I say "enough" ...my dog quits barking but I am fairly certain when I am gone and she's at the front window.....she barks until she's satisfied.

I wonder if they make barks collars which have a delay setting and teaches the dog to count their barks or count the seconds.......????

my dogs have simply learned that "enough" means to quit barking. However, I have also taught them that certain things aren't allowed to be barked at - neighbors in their yard, the deer or squirrels in the backyard, and similar things
