Crazy dog

I was trying to teach Rocky a new trick because he enjoys learning and he is very smart so it's actually fun for me, too. I was trying to get him to turn around on command and then give him his treat (I use a clicker). Well, he just was NOT getting it. I tried for two days, and he just didn't get it. So, I left him alone for a couple weeks till I came up with a new trick to teach him. Now, I'm teaching him to sit up (like he's begging, like how a small dog does). I think it looks cute. He's catching on pretty quickly (just started today teaching him this) and NOW he'll do the turn around trick. I didn't tell him to, or anything. He just started doing it on his own. I guess he WAS learning it after all, but didn't want me to know! What a crazy pup. It is almost freaky how smart GSD's are. I've never been around such a smart breed of dog.

Haha. I know that when I have Ozzy's ball and ignore him (I normally do this on accident) he'll do every trick he knows without me asking. It's SO funny. He'll whimper a bit, then he'll roll over and spin and bow and shake paws with the air and bow again, then roll over.... He's just like, "I'll do ANYTHING, just give me my BALL!"

It is really funny how they KNOW they're supposed to do something in order to get what they want! I guess the NILIF concept really works well!! Your dog is very cute, by the way.

Yikes, your dog could be my dog's brother. Also like the blanket over the crate, we do that too for the 'cave' approach.
