Loves to use the treadmill but....

Our 7 month old male loves to use the treadmill to get some excess energy off. Really. He gets on it and paws at it so we turn it on and way he goes. And there's the problem...sometimes he goes, as in pooh. Is there any suggestion that anyone can think of that would help eliminate this problem? The only thing I can think of is to see him take a huge dump outside and then put him on. He doesn't get the concept to poop outside on command yet. Thanks. The treadmill is great because he has so-o-o-o much energy.(I realize there are varying opinions on letting them use the treadmill, I am not really interested in starting that discussion at this time.)

Exercise stimulates the bowels so you should make sure he poos before putting him on the treadmill until he learns better or take him off for a potty break after a period of time and then put him back on.
