GSD not stimulated

I've recently adopted a 3 yr old GSD--she isn't stimulated at all when I try and play with her--I've tried throwing a ball in our yard, we bought a rope toy, and I just tried some "hide the kibble" games in our house.

Background info: she's been with us for about a week and a half, she is currently in heat, and she has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease (not sure how long she's had it)

She is pretty lethargic, when we go outside she sniffs and we walk around for about 20 min, but rarely wants to run. We are building a fence for our yard so she can run freely (is it the leash?!)--hopefully that'll help!

Any ideas/suggestions would be REALLY appreciated!

She is really new and still adjusting give her time. Lyme disease also causes joint pain and can cause lethargy so that may be playing a role in this too. Be patient and get the lyme disease taken care of. I'm sure in a few months she'll be more active and trusting willing to play with you

Give her time- she's got to heal in a lot of ways. I'm sure with your love and support she'll bounce back
