Wink Closet Monster

My 10 month old believes we have a closet monster We moved to a new house a couple of weeks ago and she is misinterpreting the sounds of me walking on the 2nd floor to be coming out of the closet on the first. and really goes after it! I tried keeping the closet open so she can see that noone is there, also tried calling her right after she barks to show her that's just me (she does not see the connection at all). The problem is that anything that I do from upstairs creates more sound downstairs (and in her mind it is coming from the closet) and only makes her go after the "closet monster" even harder. I really don't want this to become a habit, even though it is hillarious She knows the command "quiet" and she will stop barking, but will be still looking at the closet and waiting for something to come out of there. and the next sounds from upstairs will trigger the barking again.

Please help me teach my baby that there are no closet monsters!

How about taking her into the closet and letting her see there is nothing in there?

BTW it does sound hilarious! Might be hard to do anything while laughing so hard!

LOL, does sound funny-
Maybe go in there with a hand full of treats and call her in! Do some tricks in the closet.

Start feeding her dinner in it.

My furs are not in storage, nor draped across the bed. They're peering out the kennel door just waiting to be fed.

Silly dogs! I bet he will eventually figure it out. Mine finally figured out he won't melt if he gets into the tub. He used to be petrified of it, now I can't keep him out of there.
