how old is too old?

i adopteda 8-9 year old german shepherd "orion". he seems well trained to a laymen in he too old to take a shot at shutzhund?

you might want to ask that this thread be moved to the schutzhund forum - but in general i don't think its ever too late for anything. keeping in mind that to train in shutzhund is very different from excelling at schutzhund (which i believe your options are limited with him being a rescue). also, your dog may do well in the obedience or tracking portion if he doesn't have the appropriate temperament for bite work.

so i guess the question is what are your goals? and next is to have your dog properly evaluated.
