no bark collar suggestions

so i tried to do a search on here and nothing is coming up, I think its time for some other intervention for our barking dog....dresden has just turned 1 and his barking is getting worse...he never barks outside, our problem is inside the house, for example its raining they come in, they are gated in the laundry room, i'm walking around upstair and he just barks and barks...everyone else in the house is(was) sleeping...and he doesnt stop when he sees me it escalates....i dont let him out until he is quiet, but it takes a while for that... ...so im thinking about a no bark collar any suggestions??

Re: no bark collar suggestions

I have a Tri-Tronics Bark Limiter XS (I think that's the name!!)...I haven't had to use it in a long time, but it worked really well. And the best thing is that it was small enough to fit on my JRT but was still strong enough for the big dogs.

Re: no bark collar suggestions

I avoid all bark collars like the black plague... Lets just say that a collie my dad once had was mentally scared for life by one that malfunctioned and shocked her every 5 minuets when we left for an hour one day... She had a small twitch every 5 minutes for a few months after we figured out what was going on and took it off of here... Poor collie, should have never gotten the darned thing.

I don't know if they are the longer prongs or not. I bought it from my breeder used, not new. His problem is barking at the neighbors (even if they aren't there!) so he only wears it when he is outside and when we are home. It isn't on him all the time.

I also have the TriTronics Bark Limiter XS. It comes with two lengths of prongs, short ones and long ones, that you can exchange, if you buy it new. I use mine rarely (only when needed) and a battery lasts me about a year + in it.
