helping brothers get along....

My inlaws have the brother to my GSD. They got along great... in the beginning.... my dog got sick with Parvo and had to stay away from his brother for quite some time. When we brought the dogs back together my dog remembered his brother and wanted to play.. the brother however wanted no part of it and barks like **** when he sees our dog... we got brothers especially so they could play and so that if we go away from home they will be okay to stay together... how can I help them get along???? my inlaws put a muzzle on their dog cause he is vicious... or maybe scared? our dogs are hte same size and everything... should we just let them off the leash? it seems they are okay, but the leashed get tangled and then the other dog wants to bite...

any ideas will help....

Re: helping brothers get along....

Have you tried getting them together at a neutral location like a park to see if they will get along? If you are taking your GSD to where the brother lives, that is his territory and he may be more aggressive in that situation.
