Re: trading tricks

I, for one, have no idea what you mean by "trading tricks." Tricks are intangible, they're just behaviors. How do you trade those?

Are these behaviors you've already taught to your dog? If you're looking for training challenges, click here: https://www.germanshepherds.com/forum...oard=74&page=1

Look for the "Training Challenge" threads for some good things to teach and post your progress.

Re: trading tricks

I taught Panzer to high five in about 10 min. I want to know how to teach him to close our back door and lock it after he goes outside

Re: trading tricks

Anna learned to "high five" through "touch"

When I was trying to teach her touch with her nose, she'd give me a high five instead! So now, "touch" means touch with your paw, "nose" means touch with your nose. We're now learning to touch different things in the house, not just my hand. It always changes so it keeps her interested. Sometimes we "touch" the door, a stuffed animal, a treat, etc.

BTW, panzermom, my husband is in love with the name Panzer for a GSD. He's informed me our next dog will be a GSD named Panzer.
