Should I help remove last baby tooth?

My 6 month male has 1 last baby tooth, it is his lower left canine, it is grey and gross looking. The adult tooth has already grown in behind it. Its wiggly but not enough to fall out. He has been chewing on treats/toys for weeks and its still holding strong,

Should we try to help him remove it?
Should we let him try to get rid of it himself? If yes, how long do we let him try before doing it ourselves?

I just don't want it to keep his adult tooth from falling into the proper place.
Thank you -

99.9% of the time it's nothing to worry about and will come out naturally. My last puppy had multiple baby teeth every which way until his seventh month.Looked like a shark
