I believe it has something to do with the dimensions of the image. Images must be 800x600 in most of the categories, so I imagine anything that's 16:3(the standard for most photos) is converted to 4:3 and the easiest way of doing that is by rotating them. You may want to try to resize your photos to 800x600 and see if that helps keep the orientation correct.

The dims are actually 800 long, 600 wide. That's ok for a landscape orientation, but for portrait you need to have dims of 450x600 to keep within that 600 wide space

If there's a pic I took in portrait and I know I'm going to want to post it here, I just take a second one in landscape and just deal with the imperfect composition. I do most of my photos off my phone now and don't edit them

Hello there, just wondering if you are using an iOS device?

Best regards,

gonna sort of "hijack" this as I asked this before in the photo section and didn't get help. But that's okay. I am OLD and not super computer savvy. Do I still have to upload pictures to a photo service, like shutterfly (where I had pictures even with my logo stolen and used by others years ago)? Would love to bore you all with current and past GSDs in my life. THANKS

dogbyte Cathy, Rossi ( the Dutch shepherd) and Gunny (the Czech/DDR GSD) with Zoey, Chance,Xara,Gracie, and Jaden snuggled deep within my heart

That is not required anymore. When you post, there is an attachment option now (it's like paper clip), where you can upload images and then upload it into the post

Best regards,

Ed
