Cool Loki's DNA Test Results!

Hi everyone!

I've posted here a few times about my rescue pup, Loki, who found his way to me about 2 months ago. We were pretty sure he was a GSDx but we weren't sure what else was in there.

Well, his Embark DNA test results came back!

Surprised he is not more GSD. He has Rotty ears, a husky tail but the rest looks GSD to me. He looks super cute either way

If you think dogs canít count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then give him only two of them.

Just curious. Do you have to submit a picture with the test application?

I can totally see it! He has a sweet, open expression - probably a husky trait since they're such happy-go-lucky dogs. Whenever I see a husky I think of the song, "Don't Worry, Be Happy."
Good luck with him~

You do - I have heard from a lot of people who have done this that they believe that is how the company determines the majority of the results. I don't know if there is a way to prove otherwise.

Me too! I thought the GSD would be the biggest chunk. Thank you.

Nope. They didn't have any information other than his name, my name, and his estimated DOB. They got him perfectly, right down to his weight (they estimate 79lbs, he is 78lbs!). They also found relatives in San Antonio, which unbeknownst to them is where we are.

Haha, you are so right! I will hear that in my head now whenever I look at him. Thank you.

Nope, false! Other companies might, but Embark does not. It is renowned for its accuracy. Color me impressed!

I think Embark is great. Was very happy with both of my results.

Leigh Fields is correct - no picture is required.

I wonder if you submit DNA from an AKC registered dog, what will come back. The OP dog's results are pretty accurate though.

Many people use Embark for AKC dogs for the full testing.
