Ah, ok..then she is right where she should be. Good to know. Thank you!

I hope cerberus starts to calm down now and only whine like this for the 3 days like yours did. That would be amazing.

Donovan always sounded like he was dying. It was rather funny except at 2 AM. He never tried to break out of his crate and I could usually scold him and tell him to be quiet and he would.

If I had to leave, one of the dogs either went with me or I put Donovan out in the kennel just to be safe.

A word of caution here. Many years ago before the internet we had female non gsd litter mates. First heat cycle came at same time for both of them. Everything was fine and the bleeding stopped. No discharge, no bleeding for a few day so we assumed it was over and all was safe. Needless to say it wasn't. We were play dating with one of the neighbors males that happened to be their litter mate brother. It was all good for a good bit then my other neighbor let her boy out in their yard. Also a litter mate brother (I know it seems weird but it was a neighbors rescue litter and the pups were fantastic and all the neighbor kids wanted pups so we kept them). One of my females scaled the fence in a blink. We ran around to the other yard and it was already too late. There was my female tied with her brother. I was frantic. Thought we did it all correctly. Called the vet. Both my females went in for emergency spays a few days later. Higher risk, higher cost. Vet confirmed that indeed both females were NOT done with there cycles. Lesson learn the hard way.
So, if you think your female is done with her cycle be safe and wait a good week before you let your male anywhere near your female. Better safe than sorry.

Yep. I count a full 4 weeks from the first spot of blood before I think we’re done. Scarlet’s on day 12. Ugh.

Same schedule here. I was taught 1 week coming, 1 week in and one week going but I am always careful so girls here get put on lockdown for 4 weeks. That means in a crate behind a closed door unless I have eyes on. Six foot leash only outside. I trust not fences, gates or other humans.

Scarlet is in the TV room right now while I’m at work, and Carly is at work with me, barking. When she gets her stitches out on Monday, then she can stay at home, and I’ll bring Scarlet to work with me until she’s out of heat. I’ll be so glad when those stitches come out and they can play together again. Scarlet is driving me nuts. It’s a perfect storm of crazy right now at my house.

Ill be sure to keep them separated by gates and/or under very close supervision for that 4th week. When my girl first started bleeding I made sure they were closely supervised..and if i couldnt supervise..one was crated or went wherever I needed to go. Worked just fine, and is a dream compared to the current situation..lol

Can't wait till Cerberus is back to normal.I miss cuddling both puppies at the same time! And getting a full night of sleep..lol he didnt howl or cry last night much..but lots of insistant booping my face with his nose and sighing.
